backstory

growing up, education & religion was the backbone of the hayes family. for the first part of their life, briar was homeschooled & sheltered from the outside world. this was until they were caught kissing a neighborhood boy & promptly whisked away to a judiac high school. this didn't stop briar from exploring because, newsflash, tossing a repressed child into a maze of cute boys is not the best remedy. this is when briar started to seek comfort from others online & began posting covers of their favorite songs.
this stressful period in their life also triggered something in them & they began acting out, causing disturbances in class & drinking beneath the bleachers, but a coach catching them in the showers with a team mate was the last straw.
after being expelled, briar ran away from home in fear of their parents & started living with a man that ended up being their first love & now ex-husband. eloping a month after turning eighteen, the relationship didn't take long to become toxic & abusive. briar eventually ran away from their husband, back home, to their parents. this forced them to start rekindling the relationship with their parents & finally seek help.
fast forward a year, briar is living in florida at the hotel in attempt at focusing on themself before releasing their first album. they keep in contact with their family but that is it, they are secluded otherwise.
